VIRTUAL POSTPARTUM YOGA & JOURNALING SERIES
Guided by Malaika Maitland
Professional Yoga Therapist (1000hr), Doula, Visual Artist and New Mama
This interactive 4-day series, In Your Element, is your opportunity for some curated me-time. Nourish your body, deepen your relationship with breath, reflect on your journey and nurture your intentions for yourself and your family. Sessions will be recorded so you can participate even if you aren't able to join live! All welcome - newly postpartum and those with older children too.
The theme of each daily session (1 hour) is inspired by one element of nature. Earth, Water, Fire, Air each provide an intuitive lens for assessing and bringing balance to the rich tapestry of our lives. For instance, like the Water, how can we flow with the rhythms of life with greater ease? While our experiences of birth and parenthood may all be different, sharing space with each other reminds us that we are not alone. Come as you are, and together let’s pave a path towards being more conscious parents.
This series is a refreshing blend of yoga therapy, ayurveda, meditation, journaling and guided conversation. In Your Element is your space to feel held, while also gaining simple techniques and knowledge to help you navigate postpartum, parenthood and beyond.

FAQs
Where will the series take place?
Virtually on Zoom.
I can’t join live, will this be recorded?
Yes! Once you register you will receive a recording of that morning’s session before the end of the day.
When does the series begin?
Monday August 17th
Can I participate if I’m newly postpartum?
Even if you are newly postpartum and/or not feeling up for movement, yoga poses are about roughly only a quarter of our time together. They can always be skipped and you are encouraged to do only what feels good for your body.
Do I have to have just had a baby to participate?
For me postpartum means the entire period of a birth persons life after they have a baby, so you can participate no matter how old your children are.
Helpful to have
Yoga Mat + Props
Blanket / Cushions
Chair ( ideally armless)
Journal & Pen
A special space, consider gathering eg. flowers, art, family photos, candles, crystals, soothing aromas etc.
Testimonials
“I feel the difference in my life since I have starting practicing yoga with Malaika…it is my "me time". A time when... as I sit on the yoga mat, I am more than just wife and mother, I am simply ME... Taking care of ME. Thank you Malaika sharing your practice with me.”

“This virtual session was most timely and appropriate as we all navigate this 'new abnormal' that Covid-19 has cast us into. It was a great visual reminder and comfort that we are all #alonetogether. From as far as Alaska, globally we were on that call together sharing our individual thoughts, fears, hopes and intentions. It was cathartic, relaxing and comforting. A great recharge and reset for the body, mind and soul.”
