Carnival asks us to move, celebrate, connect, and pour ourselves into unforgettable moments. But after all that energy, there is wisdom in slowing down.
Cool Me Down is a one-day retreat created as a gentle exhale. It’s a chance to soothe your nervous system, replenish your body, and integrate after the excitement of Carnival. And just an excuse for some self-care even if you didn’t participate.
Join yoga therapist and wellness guide Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe on Friday, August 14, 2026, 9am-2pm, at Bay House, a tranquil boutique hotel tucked into the lush hills of Jean Anglais with sweeping views of Grand Anse Beach.
Inspired by Grenadian artist Sabrina Francis' soulful song Cool Me Down, this retreat celebrates another side of Caribbean life: one of stillness, deep breaths, nourishing food, meaningful conversation, and rest.
Whether you spent Carnival dancing in the streets, entertaining family and friends, working behind the scenes, or simply soaking in the season's energy, this retreat offers a meaningful pause before life returns to its everyday rhythm. All bodies are welcome and supported.

Testimonials
An amazing experience to bring you back to self and remind you of what matters.

As the day ended, i reflected on the experience i had with Malaika, surrounded by phenomenal women, the first word that came into my mind was 'grateful'. I am truly honored and grateful for the event, it was very calming but mostly emotionally educational for me as a young woman. So much stories, experiences and advice shared throughout, one of the most raw yet educational experiences i have ever had, in a surprisingly calming way! i will be going back for more events for sure!

I signed up with my mother and we had a great time. I worried that she might have felt out of place but she made friends and loved the whole experience. It made me happy to hear her laugh and I'm planning on buying her crayons and a coloring book because she enjoyed it so much.

I found the sacred listening exercise in small groups rich and supportive and I was introduced to a new breathing exercise (through one nostril at a time) that I found particularly helpful. It is such a straightforward and practical stress management tool that I have already revisited it several times as a way of centering myself. I love Malaika's soothing voice and ability to create a safe, supportive and reflective space for us to take risks and support each other.
